We wrapped up the 2025 season at the beloved Lake Sonoma, where the Angler of the Year race and the second-half TOC points battle were both on the line. Matt Nyiri topped the field of eight with an impressive 11.55 lbs. It was a dominant season for Matt, but missing a tournament kept him just out of reach for the overall title. Still, what a way to finish!
David Brown Jr. weighed in at 11.38 lbs—less than a quarter pound behind Matt. David and Deren Kozenko were locked in a fierce battle for Angler of the Year, but Deren couldn’t derail the cranking train that is David Brown Jr.
Congratulations to your 2025 Angler of the Year: David Brown Jr! In third place and just out of the money, one of our youngest anglers, Dominic Brown, brought in 9.02 lbs, including a monster big fish at 5.09 lbs. Way to go, Dominic!
