Bredel Kicks of the 2015 Season with Big Win on Berryessa!
After
32 years the Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club officially starts another
season on lake Berryessa in the Napa wine country. 32 years ago there
were 9 anglers in little round tubes floating in the center of Lake
Alsanjo patiently waiting for me to blast them off. 32 years later we
had ## anglers in fully rigged kick boats impatiently waiting near a
boat ramp while another club started launching there big glitter rockets.
The weather was perfect and the fish were chewing in the shallows for
most and the drop shoter's had some fun too.
When it came time to weigh in and see were the cards would lie it was
Jordan Brendel with the winning limit of 17.66 and he just nudged out
the big Jason Cullen who weighed in 5 fish for 17.66 and 2nd place.
Then we have Matt Nyiri with 13.80 for 3rd place and he swears it wasn’t
the drop shot rod that did it for him. Close behind Matt Nyiri was our
runner up for the 2014 TOC, and one of our young guns Jacob Hoch. The
kid weighed in 5 fish for 13.27 and 4th place. Keep an eye on this young
SCBBBC member as he and his posse’ are really heating up. Scott
Caven let us all know he’s here to stay after weighing in a limit
for 13.02 and I’m sure we’ll be reading more about this
SCBBBC member in the next couple event’s.
Deren Kozenko took home the big fish award with a 5.44 pounder that
must have made him feel real good all day long while basking in the
70 degree weather while fishing the season opener for the SCBBBC. The
fun didn’t stop there, oh no! Deren also won the free raffle prize
sponsored by the CatchemCaro Bait Co. That prize was one G-Loomis 6’6”
Med cranking rod. And it was our new tournament director Mark Harrison
who took home the last place fish award donated by the CatchemCaro Bait
Co. One real nice JA Quick top water bait.
We collected 7 cans of food for our clubs 2015 charity event. Keep those
cans coming to every meeting and tournament? SCBBBC membership packages
were given out to everyone, shirts, calendars, decals. The goal for
2015 is FUN. I think we all had some fun. See you all at the next club
meeting.
