2010 Tournament
of Champions
Dec 3rd & 4th 2010
Clear Lake
Carson Riley
Wins Championship!
The top 15 anglers out of 50 Sonoma County Belly Boat
Bass club members this year were invited to an all expenses paid 2-day
event on the great bass factory Clear Lake. With the weather report
looking gloomy for the weekend these top 15 didn’t care one bit.
They would be fishing for a chance at the largest kickboat tournament
payout ever. After two days of nasty, windy, and cold weather it was
Carson Riley who figured it out and was able to bring
a limit in each day to win this year’s Tournament of Champions!
Carson’s 2 day limit of 32.55 was all he needed to beat out 2nd
place finisher Bill Sweatt who had a total weight of
22.39 pounds. Carson also had the day-1 big fish of 5.14 pounds and
takes home this year’s trophy and a check for $1650 dollars. Congratulations
Carson Riley! Bill Sweatt 2nd place
finish battling the elements up north netted him a nice check of $750
dollars. With a huge day 2 limit, this years Rookie of the Year winner
Chris Lapoint takes 3rd place with 19.19 pounds and
takes a check for $550 dollars. Congratulations to all the top three
anglers. Scott Beem was day 2 big fish winner with
a nice dropshot 6.62 pound large mouth bass. This year’s theme
was go south, look for calmer water and throw lipless crankbaits all
day. Everyone seemed to have a great time staying at the skylark hotel
and going out to dinner Saturday night. A special thanks to Andy
Mercado and Dan Chester for helping run the
show…..
