Daniel Kinn
Wins 25th Scbbbc State Classic!
We
had a record breaking classic this year. Not only did we break the record
for most anglers (48) but we also had someone break the 3 fish limit
record. Billy sackett set a new 3 fish record with a limit weighing
16.13, including a beautiful fish weighing 8.51. That fish also gave
bill big fish for Sunday. Starting off the weekend we couldn't ask for
better weather, with a little chill in the air it was perfect to be
on the water. It was an amazing site to see all the trucks lined up
snaking around in the county parks parking lot. After checking everyone
in, we had our little meeting and then we were off to our favorite fishing
hole. Weigh in started at 3:30 with everyone lining up and standing
next to their live wells. It took just over 30 minutes to weigh in about
45 people. After every one had been weighed in, we went back to the
campground and had hamburgers and hot dogs waiting for us. Andrew and
Tom from the BASS Federation Nation did a great job getting everyone
fed in a timely matter. Once everyone had a burger ,it was time for
the big raffle. Prizes from hats to big tackle packs to gift certificates
for the outdoor pro shop to the grand prize being a day on the lake
with jimmy reese. Tim Zandbergen walked home with the trip with jimmy,
have fun Tim and ask a lot of questions. Thanks to all the officers
for a smooth raffle.
Day
2 started the same way as we lined up at the county park in anticipation
for what the day holds. After a long day on the water it was time to
find out who would be the 25th annual classic champion. After the weigh
in at the county park, we went back to the camp ground at the state
park to do the trophy presentation and to hand out 1 ticket to each
angler for chance to win a brand new bucks bags kick boat. After calculating
the numbers, it was time to announce the winner of the 25th state classic.
Daniel Kinn was the top angler for this year’s classic with a
2 day total of 25.07 for 6 fish and taking home a huge trophy and $880
for his efforts, good job Daniel !. Deren Kozenko almost taking home
back to back classics came in second this year with 6 fish weighing
24.82, good job daren !. Coming in third with a two day total weighing
23.79 was Steve Wilson. Paul Fontes took home his first top ten finish,
coming in fourth with a two day total weighing 23.45. congrats paul.
Rounding out the top 5 was David Sternitzke with a total of 22.62, good
job Dave. Taking big fish for day one was Tim Zandbergen with a nice
6.41 beauty. Day 2 big fish went to Billy sackett with a huge 8.51 monster.
Driving home with brand new bucks bags was Dominic Doan, congrats on
the new boat. Lets see that boat in action at our next tournament at
blue lakes. Thank you all for coming out and fishing with our club.
