Jon Graves Hold's On Day Two To Claim The BnT 2009 US Open Championship!

63 of the best the west coast has to offer when it comes to competitive bass fishing from a kickboat or belly boat came together for a weekend of tournament bass fishing on the legendary Clear Lake. These 63 hardcore anglers didn't even care that the weekend brought them continuous rain fall and very soggy camping conditions, they came to battle! Local Ukiah angler Jon Graves was the day one leader with a huge sack for 18.69 pounds and a slight lead over Dave Ryle with 17.35 pounds. The swords were drawn and these two anglers would battle it out on day 2 for the championship! Saturdays activity's after the weigh-in were highlighted by a great raffle thanks to the many sponsors who donated items. Darren Kozenko was the big raffle winner with two rods and bags and bags of tackle. Steve Wilson was the winner of a new Creek Company kickboat.

Day two started off the same as day one with the rain coming down pretty good. But at blast-off no one cared as everyone headed out on the lake looking for that big limit. Day one leader Jon Graves headed back across the lake to Rattlesnake island hoping to repeat his day one weight and hold on for the win. Dave Ryle headed back into the keys in hopes of just a little more weight then day one to over take Jon and win it all himself. When it was all said and done and both anglers came to the scales it was Jon Graves that was able to hold on a claim a huge victory and and claim the BnT US Open Championship! Congratulations to Jon for a great total weight of 32.78! Mr Dave Ryle also had another great day and comes in 2nd place with a total weight of 31.72 pounds! Congratulations Dave on a great finish and battle! 3rd place was Troy Hornback with 31.07 pounds and in it the whole time. Great job Troy! 4th place goes to someone who is always "in it to win it" Mr. Taylor Capilla with 29.36 pounds. And in 5th place right in the thick of things was Aaron Swerkes with a limit of 29.69 pounds!

Congratulations to all that came out and weathered the storm to compete in a great event! Thank you to the BnT staff for a smooth tournament! See you all next year. Next on the Scbbbc tournament trail is the great Delta, june13th.
