John Bird Wins at
Blue Lakes and Claims 2009 Angler of the Year!
The
end of the 2009 Scbbbc season ended on Saturday in dramatic fashion.
All eyes were on Steve Wilson and Randy Kidd as they came into this
last tournament tied for first place and angler of the year. With rumors
circling around the lake all day that neither angler had caught a fish
yet and time was running out things got interesting, would we end up
with a tie for AOY? The answer to that question became load and clear
around 12:30 from John Bird who landed a 5.58 lb’er. Now we had
a whole new scenario going on with 2 hours left to go. If Steve or Randy
didn't’ catch a fish could John Bird end up AOY? The answer is
Yes, on what was a very tuff day at blue lakes everything that needed
to happen did happen and Congratulations to John Bird as your Scbbbc
2009 Angler of the Year! O’ did I forget to mention also that
Bird’s one fish weighing in at 5.58 lbs also was enough to claim
the victory at Blue Lakes. With 30 angles fishing the last tournament
of the year only 8 guys were able to catch a bass! Coming in 2nd place
was Mike Ayers with 2 fish for 4.96 lbs, 3rd place goes to Jared Bredel
with one fish for 2.68 lbs. 4th place was Doug Tyler with one fish for
2.46 lbs. and in 5th place was Dan Chester with one fish for 2.45 lbs.
Congratulations to all the top finishers on a extremely tuff day of
fishing.
