Doug Tyler
Claims Victory on the California Delta!
It all started
at 5:00AM on the Delta's White Slough while the wind was howling from
the west. 27 of California's best float tubers went at it for 9.5 hours.
We started fishing on the out going tide which proved to make for a
very challenging day of fishing for some while a couple anglers figured
them out. We only had two limits come to the scale. When all was said
and done it was Doug Tylers who had his first win with the Sonoma County
Belly Boat Bass Club. Doug also had the days #1 big fish of the day
with a whopper bass that weighed 8.63. With the big fish his total weight
was 11.02. Doug caught his toad on a frog. You can guess who might be
going for the Rookie of the year award. Doug cashed in for a total of
$420.00 with a $40.00 entry fee. Not bad for a day of float tubing.
Steve Wilson
was knocking on Dougs door as his weight of 10.78 was good enough for
second place. Steve was flipping a tube bait to catch his fish. Then
came Dan Chester with 10.41 for third place. We rounded out the top
6 places with the following anglers. 4th was Mike Ayers 8.74, 5th was
Todd Iwamoto 8.29, 6th was Jon Mahoney 8.23. Jon is our 45th paid member
this year and it was Jon's first showing with the SCBBBC. I'm sure it's
not his last. First out of the money was 7th place Darrel Hollis with
7.10. This is Darrels first year with the club and he's improved at
every tournament. Look for Darrel to be in the money at our next tour
stop, Blue Lakes. Here are some stats from this SCBBBC event.
