Doug Tyler
Wins at Blue Lakes
It all started with a very early morning drive for the
members of the SCBBBC as we all headed for Blue Lakes. The 7th stop
of the SCBBBC Nor Cal Food Drive Tour. We had 28 of California's best
show up and check-in at 4:00 AM and carry there fully rigged bass boats
down the side of a mountain to the launch area. We started the day off
with some wind blowing east straight through the canyon of Blue Lakes.
This didn't stop our Rookie Doug Tyler from catching a limit as he went
home with the first place trophy. Doug crossed the scales with 10.52
for five fish. He did this after fish a night tournament with the B-N-T
club on the Delta. He weighed it on the Delta and then drove to Blue
Lakes and checked in with no sleep. He Binh Phi on his heels with a
10.10 limit of bass to take home 2nd place and it was Anthony Duffany
with 10.06 for 5 fish and 3rd place. Rounding out the money spots were
4th place Deren Kozenko, 5 fish for 8.87. Then came Randy Volkman for
5th place as he weighed in 4 fish for 8.72. This was Randy's first time
in the money so its time to watch out for this little home boyeeee.
6th place went to Mike Ayers with 4 fish for 8.37. 7th place went to
Mr. Jon Bird our tournament director. It was Scotty Beem who went home
with the Iwamoto jig award just out of the money.
Today was Barrets first run with the club and he made it to the scales.
Thanks for joining us Barret we look forward to fishing with you again
soon. A huge thank you goes out to the officers and DJ for helping out
at the weigh-in and to Rebeca for helping with the paper work. Thanks
again to all who brought the canned foods too.
