Rich Caro Claims TOC Victory in Historic Fashion at Clear Lake!
Not only did Rich Caro break the club’s all time
10 fish weight limit this weekend but he also took home the biggest
purse in float tube tournament history. Rich’s 2 day total of
a whopping 44.45 pounds breaking the club’s record held by Dave
Strenitzke’s 42.87 pounds. Riches first place finish came with
a check for $1150 dollars and a great trophy for his memories of this
event. Rich’s day one big fish of 9.01lbs. And day two big fish
of 6.01 was too much for anyone else to over come beating 2nd place
by 13 pounds. Congratulations on this huge win Mr. Caro. 2nd place went
to Bill Sweatt fresh off a State Classic win and a 2007 Co-Angler of
the Year award. Bill’s two day weight of 31.43 was good enough
for 2nd place and a huge payout also. 3rd place was the 2005 Angler
of the Year Carson Riley with a weight of 26.41 lbs. 4th place was Matt
Cahill with 25.64 lbs. 5th place goes to Jon Bird with 25.04 lbs. 6th
Paul fontes, 7th Dave Sternitzke, 8th Anthony Duffany, 9th Dan Chester,
10th Mike Ayers, 11th Jon Graves, 12th Binh Phi, 13th Dave Brown, 14th
Scott Beem, 15th Dale Zindler. Congratulations to all of this year’s
Tournament of Champions Qualifiers. Everyone that qualified for this
event was awarded a check along with a free night’s stay at Skylark
Inn plus a free dinner at the Award winning TNT Mexican restaurant on
the lake and lastly everyone took home a plaque. Wow, what a weekend!
